Day 01. Lombok Departure – Sumbawa Besar ( L, D )
Depart your Lombok Hotel to Khayangan Harbor, where you will aboard
the local ferry boat and across Alas Strait to Tano Harbor at the
western tip of Sumbawa Island. There are few places to visit en
route before Khayangan Harbor. Cakranegara is the commercial center
of Lombok, where you can buy all the needs for your long drive to
Sumbawa Besar. Narmada is recreational area, where the Balinese
King of Cakranegara built a summer palace in 1727. Loyok Village
is renowned for its superb handicrafts of plaited bamboo. Approximately
midday you will approach the harbor, where then aboard for a one
and half-hour cruise to Tano Harbor. The drive is continued from
this harbor to the region of Sumbawa Besar. There are lots of opportunities
for picture takings, as the journey will pass by some fishing villages
and scenic beach views. Bungin Village is known as the densest populated
island in the world, where the whole surface of an island is covered
by hundreds fishermen houses constructed on wooden poles. This village
is located off shore near the old Alas Harbor, some six kilometers
from Tano Harbor. There are many other villages you may observe
en route before approaching the Sumbawa Besar Region. Evening, you
will arrive in the region and check-in Kencana Beach Hotel or Tambora
Hotel. ( Lunch with lunch box, dinner at hotel ).
Day 02. Sumbawa Besar - Moyo Island Tour ( B, L, D )
You will have an exciting boat trip to Moyo Island to day. This
island is renown for its wildlife, and you may take to explore inland
where opportunity to observe wild boars, deer, cows, monkeys and
birds on hiking trip. It is necessary to contact the island ranger
station that provides complete information and secure guidance.
Most boundaries of this island preserve snorkeling and diving sites,
where multicolored fish, blue corals, clear waters are some of the
advantages. Then you may try the local fishing equipments and catch
the bigger fish. This will comply the whole trip attractions. Afternoon,
we will return to hotel for dinner and rest. Lunch will be served
in picnic box.
Day 03. Sumbawa Besar – Bima ( B, L, D )
Your next destination is Bima, the easternmost region of West Nusa
Tenggara Province. The trip will begin with a short sightseeing
in the vicinity town of Sumbawa Besar. We will visit Bala Kuning,
where the remained treasuries of Sumbawa Besar Sultanate are exhibited;
and continue to Istana Loqa’, an old Palace belonging to the Sultanate.
The Palace was constructed in wooden frames with 99 stilts of old
teaks. The number represents to the essence of spiritual life of
the people. Next visit is Pamulung Village, where the natives live
in traditional houses and practice daily routines, such as farming,
weaving and cattle herds. After all we will depart the town and
drive eastward to Empang Village. This village produces the nicest
‘trasi’, fish pasta that flourish most of Indonesian cooking. The
journey is continued up to Bima, where you will check-in the hotel
for dinner and rest. Simple lunch will be served in local restaurant
en route.
Day 04. Bima – Departure ( B )
A short sightseeing in the surroundings of Bima town will last
your Sumbawa Overland Tour. Some visit will be made to Raba Dompu
Weaving Village, where we will observe the process of indigenous
fabrics; continue to the Public Market of Bima, where we will observe
the locals sell and buy daily needs. The visit can be made also
to Bima Harbor, where lots of traditional phinisi boats anchor to
load and unload their shipments. You will be then transferred to
Bima Airport for departure. Program Ends.
