Day 01. Arrival Waingapu ( D )
Upon your arrival at Waingapu Airport, you will be welcomed and
transferred to your hotel accommodation. Afternoon, you will visit
three of the most prominent villages in east Sumba, Prailiu, Pau
and Rende, where the famous ikat woven textiles can be found. Evening
rest and dinner at hotel.
Day 02. Waingapu Waikabubak ( B, L, D )
After your breakfast at hotel, depart the town and explore westward
to Waikabubak. En route visit will be made at Anakalang, where a
huge carved stone tomb can be seen. Upon arrival in Waikabubak,
continue the visit to Tarung and Puunaga Villages, located surround
the town. In those villages one can have a closer look into the
unique high roofed houses, the stone tombs and even we still can
see Andung branced wood poles used to hang the skulls of the village
enemies after the inter clan war. Simple lunch is served en route,
dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 03. Waingapu Kodi Tour ( B, L, D )
After your breakfast at hotel, we will explore the western tip
of Sumba Island up to Kodi Village, where the tallest traditional
Sumba house can be found. Its almost as high as a coconut tree.
Sumbanese, however most adore to the faith of a religion, they still
also believe in Merapu the spirits of their ancestors. Therefore
the unique house constructions are representing to their spiritual
believes. In addition to this unique experience, you will have the
chance to wonder the virgin white sandy beaches. Take your time
to enjoy the nature beauty. Lunch box will be provided. Afternoon,
we will return to Waikabubak for dinner and overnight.
Day 04. Waikabubak Departure ( B )
After your breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Tambolaka
Airport, and departs to your next destination. Program ends.
